Educator of the Year

Nominations are NOW CLOSED for the 2021-2022 school year.

The IDEA Educator of the Year program honors current IDEA members who have made outstanding contributions integrating technology in education. The award is specifically designed to recognize IDEA educators at all experience levels—from the beginner to the advanced user.

There are two categories for the annual Educator of the Year awards:

  • K-12 Classroom Teachers
  • Educator (Other Staff or Administrator)

The 2021-2022 nominations are due January 7, 2022.

Nominations are reviewed by the IDEA Awards Committee, and final selections are recommended to the IDEA Executive Board for confirmation. The winners will be notified no later than January 17, 2022.

Educator of the Year Awards are presented at IDEAcon.

Jason Rubo

Instructional Coach

Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205

"Our nominee joined our district and teaching staff at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year as an instructional coach. On day one, the nominee dove head first into collaborating with and preparing building staff members for the arduous task of setting up for remote learning. Tasks included teaching staff how to use all of the features in Zoom, how to assemble and incorporate CleverTouch screens into instruction for those teachers piloting the new devices, and how to organize and push out assignments through SeeSaw and Google Classroom."
