On August 18, 2021, the Illinois State Board of Education met and under the Consent Agenda for that meeting, they approved the “*Rules for Adoption- Part 1 (Public Schools Evaluation, Recognition, and Supervision) Computer Science Standards." In addition, there is currently a Computer Science working group that has been formed. This group is working directly with ISBE to design resources that will support the integration of the computer science standards into classroom instruction.

In addition, we are excited to be offering a number of sessions on computer science, design thinking, computational thinking and more at IDEAcon 2022. We will have engaging sessions daily focused on these concepts as well as hands-on learning activities. On Wednesday, February 16, we will have specific thought leaders, presenters and even our keynote (Kate Biberdorf) who will share about everything STEM/STEAM and Computer Science!
