Join IDEA, CDW-G and Minecraft: EE for your daily lunch hour and learn how Minecraft: Education Edition fosters team collaboration and creativity among students to solve problems through trial and error. We will explore how Minecraft for Education provides the tools to support management of the class within Minecraft, develop ideas for curriculum integration, STEAM lesson plans, plus much more. Monday, June 1 - Module 1: Introduction to Minecraft: Edu Edition Overview
We will introduce Minecraft: Education Edition, what it is, and how it and how it can be leveraged as a learning tool within your classroom, across several different content areas.
Tuesday, June 2 - Module 2: Placing Your First Blocks
We will get down to the basics on Minecraft: EE for those first timers or novice users to gain familiarity on game mechanics.
Wednesday, June 3 - Module 3: Classroom Build Challenges
We will put some of your newly developed knowledge to the test and construct something within Minecraft: EE, based off a challenge provided.
Thursday, June 4 - Module 4: Assessment with Minecraft: EE
We will explore various ways to grade and assess student understanding of projects within Minecraft, as well as discover lesson plan ideas.
Join us for one session or attend all four! Illinois educators can earn one (1) PDH for each live session attended.
Then, invite your students to participate in our Minecraft Build Challenge! The challenge kicks-off on Friday, June 5 from 12pm -1pm CST and ends Monday, June 8 at 5pm CST. Register your class for the Minecraft Build Challenge here.
