We are so glad you are here, and we can’t wait to meet you in-person or virtually at one of our many events.

Here’s the deal … The IDEA team doesn’t want you to dread earning your PD hours or sigh at the thought of yet another webinar.

Our goal is to make events relevant, engaging, and, most of all, inspiring.

And we know some people love events and others avoid them like the plague. So, we promise that no matter how the word “event” makes you feel, you will find a webinar, course, or conference on our upcoming events list that is a good fit for you.

Want to know more about our event offerings and what to expect when you register? Here are a few of our regular happenings - but we are always adding fun, new events to the list!

IDEAcon is one of the Midwest’s largest ed tech conferences. Hosted by IDEA every February, thousands of educators from Illinois and across the U.S. join together to learn about sound pedagogical practices in education and how to leverage technology to engage, inspire, and reach all learners. It’s 4 days of fun, and you can attend virtually or in-person in Schaumburg, IL. Learn more here.

ideaU is a week-long, virtual institute hosted by IDEA every summer. It’s a place where you can connect with fellow educators, learn in an engaging and fun environment, and get inspired for the upcoming school year. Each day of the institute is designed around a specific theme and includes both live and watch-on-demand sessions. Learn more about the next ideaU here

Forget wearing pink. On Wednesdays we host webinars! IDEA has an amazing network of partners and education experts who help us put on a FREE one-hour webinar each week. Topics range from SEL to web design and everything in between! You can check out all past #WednesdayWebinars here.

Students for Innovation Advocacy Day is a one-day event held in the rotunda of the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield. It allows legislators, policy makers, and other citizens to see first-hand how technology is used in classrooms across Illinois to create exciting learning environments. This event highlights the crucial role that technology plays in education -- ranging from increases in collaboration and critical thinking, to promoting learning beyond the limits of the school day -- by creating a space for students to share their learning and innovative uses of devices, the internet, and digital curriculum. Ready to take a deeper dive into a specific topic? Our cohorts and boot camps are great ways to do just that! Cohorts range from 3 to 6 month long professional learning sessions. Our cohorts are hosted in Google Classroom and consist of asynchronous work, virtual office hours, and monthly synchronous sessions.

IDEA Boot Camps are our one month long professional learning opportunities. Boot camp topics focus on accessing in-demand, bite-size training. Each month consists of asynchronous work, as well as one virtual office hour and one synchronous meeting with experts. The content is designed based on current educational trends.

IDEA Playgrounds include six recorded sessions all centered around a specific, highly-relevant education topic.

There are two ways to participate in IDEA's Playgrounds:

  • Purchase access to a single Playground event. Visit our upcoming events list to register for the month of your choice!

  • Purchase a subscription to the Playgrounds for the year. Click here to purchase a Playground subscription.

As teachers and educators, you give a lot to others. But don’t forget - you need to take care of yourself, too. Each month, the IDEA team or an IDEA chapter will host an event or wellness challenge to help promote teacher wellness! It may be yoga, a gratitude journal, or even a coffee on us! Follow us on social media for each month’s #teacherwellness happening.

We talk a lot about teachers, but we also want to be a resource for all of our school administrators and coaches out there! IDEA Academies is a program in which Illinois school district administrators and coaches participate to meet legislated requirements for continuous professional development. Learn more about them here.

In 2022, the IDEA team is offering a Summer Pathways Program. You can choose from MicroPD, workshops, or cohorts depending on your time availability. We have virtual and in-person options for all educators - teachers, coaches, and administrators.

These will be available June - July 2022.
