IDEA FILM CLUB

An IDEA Film Club brings our purpose to life: educators learning with and from one another. A shared film creates an inviting starting point, while the dialogue afterward turns that experience into an opportunity to build relationships, explore perspectives, and reflect together.
It gives educators a natural way to Connect across schools, subjects, and roles. We Grow by considering unfamiliar experiences, questioning assumptions, and listening to different interpretations. We Share our insights, questions, and lived experiences, recognizing that everyone brings something valuable to the conversation. We Inspire one another by discovering possibilities that can influence how we teach, lead, and support our communities.
The experience also reflects what makes IDEA distinctive: the relationships educators build are as valuable as the learning experience itself. Participants help shape the conversation, and their perspectives become part of what others learn. A Film Club creates space for that exchange in a relaxed, welcoming setting where educators can participate as whole people, with interests and experiences beyond their professional roles.
The film does not have to be about education to make the gathering meaningful. Stories about belonging, identity, courage, creativity, or change can open conversations that connect to our lives and our work. Thoughtful dialogue gives us practice in curiosity, empathy, critical thinking, and respectful disagreement.
For IDEA, the purpose is to create a shared experience that continues through new relationships, deeper understanding, and future collaboration.
The movie brings us together.
The conversation helps us become a community.
