What We Do
IDEA members throughout Illinois can help their students build strong media literacy schema so everyone can confidently access, analyze, evaluate, create, and act across all forms of communication—a framework informed by the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE). Together, we thoughtfully explore digital-age learning and emerging technologies so educators can make informed choices, inspire innovation, and prepare learners to participate meaningfully in an evolving world.
Through Professional Learning, IDEAcon, and Resources, IDEA brings educators together across subjects, grade levels, settings, and career stages. Our difference is community: we connect, grow, share, and inspire one another through learning that happens everywhere—from classrooms and conferences to online spaces, homes, and communities.
