Meet Laura!

Laura Kraner has been a special education teacher in various districts and grade levels for the last 25 years.  She has taught everything from 2nd all the way to 12th grade special education, but her favorite is the 9-12 age level.  She currently teaches and coteaches mostly English classes at Carlinville High School.  Laura has her masters from Western Illinois University in reading and has been taking classes from University of Illinois to gain endorsements for both library and information science (school librarian) and tech specialist.  Laura enjoys learning about new tech things and having her classes be her guinea pigs to try out new things in order to share with other colleagues in her building.

When not focused on school, Laura likes to spend time with her family, be crafty, find new gluten free recipes to try, travel to new places, and play solitaire or any other card games.

Elected Term: July 2025 - June 2027
